Hey, everyone, it’s August, and I hate to admit it, but Summer is winding down. Back to school is in full swing and I know you have a lot going on.

Today I have 5 easy Feng Shui cures you can add to your home this Fall.

These Feng Shui cures will help support your kiddos overall well-being, educational and emotional needs during the upcoming school year.

You won't be moving furniture around. Only simple cures you can do right away or pick up while shopping for school supplies.

Just like cauliflower in the mac n' cheese you can nudge your child's behavior in the right direction without them even knowing.

1. Brighten a child’s mind by placing a light in the children’s area of the room.

How do you find the Children's area of a room? Stand at the door looking in, your Feng Shui. Children's corner, is in the middle on the right hand side. It's really that easy!

2. Grow awareness and mental capacity by hanging a wind chime over the head of their bed or in the knowledge area of the room.

Have them pick it out or make one together. There are a lot of windchime kits on the market.

I found this on Amazon and like it because it doesn't necessarily look like it should be outside. It also feels right for a child with its simple shapes and bright colors.

3. Balance emotions and self-esteem by hanging a faceted crystal over the head of their bed.

4.  Simulate the brain and senses of young children in preschool by adding multiple primary colors into the room.

5. Cultivate growth and a positive attitude by adding more blue, green or white to an older child’s rooms.

You could add blue, green or white accessories but adding a green plant is an opportunity for double good Feng Shui. Plants are living cures that increase the energy in a room. Not to mention the boost in positive feelings that comes from green.

One of my goals as an interior designer is to help you create a home that supports how you live right now and is aspirational of the way you want to live.

I do this in several ways, and it starts with being a patient, good listener and learning all I can about you, employing universal design strategies and layering Feng Shui principles into my designs.
