What is an Interior Designer?

Interior designers are problem solvers who try to get to the heart of an issue and even the emotional reasons you have for designing a new space or redesign the space you already live or do business in.

Let’s start with the big picture first, the building itself

Do you offer free in-person Design Consultations?

The design discovery call is totally free. That way you can both get an idea if I'm the right person to do your project.

If you'd like me to come to your home for an in-person design consultation I do charge a non-refundable $150 for the visit, payable by check at the time of our meeting or by credit card. If you decide you would like to work together the $150 will be credited to your final invoice.

The cost of the in-person consultation covers the time I spend away from my studio, travel, design dilemma assessment, documentation and putting your proposal together. It's a minimal cost to call on a professional for interior design help from the beginning rather than making costly mistakes.

How long is the in-person consultation?

How long will my Custom framing take to complete?

What if I don’t see the perfect frame for my art from the selection you bring to my home?

2 hours is usually enough time for me to assess your design dilemma, review your questionnaire and inspiration photos, document your space and answer your questions.

In general, between 8- 16 weeks. Every project is different and it could take longer if there is custom furniture, construction or remolding involved. My contract will include an estimated timeline for your project to reach completion.

Yes, I am happy to work with what you already own and encourage you to re-purpose and reuse. This is your home and it should reflect who you are. Starting from a clean slate is fun but the artist in me loves opportunities to perhaps paint a dresser or reupholster a chair. Re-purposing is also inspiring and informative to the design I create for you. Of course, there are times when an item you'd like to use won’t work with our new design and I will be honest with you about this. If this does come up I’ll help you find a different room where it will work better.

Not to mention, you can feel good about making the “green” choice by re-purposing what you own rather than sending them to landfills.

After the in-person design consultation, I will understand the scope of your design dilemma and be able to prepare a contract for you. My contract will give you a clear idea of what it will take to achieve your desired result.
