Do you offer free Initial Design Consultations?

The design discovery call is totally free. That way you can both get an idea if I'm the right person to do your project.

If you'd like me to come to your home for an initial design consultation I do charge a non-refundable $167 for the visit, payable by check or credit card.

The cost of the initial design consultation covers the time I spend away from my studio, travel, design dilemma assessment, documentation and putting your proposal together. It's a minimal cost to call on a professional for interior design help from the beginning rather than making costly mistakes.

How long is the initial design consultation?

2 hours is usually enough time for me to assess your design dilemma, review your questionnaire and inspiration photos, document your space and answer your questions.

How long will it take to complete a Full Service or Plans for DIY Success Interior Design Project?

In general, between 8- 16 weeks. Every project is different and it could take longer if there is custom furniture, construction or remolding involved. My contract will include an estimated timeline for your project to reach completion.

How much will it cost to design a room?

After the initial design consultation, I will understand the scope of your design dilemma and be able to prepare a contract for you. My contract will give you a clear idea of what it will take to achieve your desired result.

That being said, I do offer a flat fee One Day Decorating Makeover package that may suit your needs.

What is included with your all of your design services?

  • Depending on your needs, your interior design solution could include a concept and mood board, furniture floor plan, furniture selections, color palette, upholstery, flooring, and wall material selections and/or construction drawings for tradespeople like remodeling professionals and handymen.

  • In-person initial design consultation and design solution meetings. Being together is the best way to show you my design suggestions, see and feel material selections, and answer your questions.

  • Access to my online design studio and your personal project board. Here you will find all the elements of your project in one easy to use place. If you ever want to refer back to your design proposal, contractor estimates, furniture floor plan, furniture selections, color palette, upholstery, flooring, and wall material selections and/or construction drawings, this will be an easy place to find them.

  • You'll be kept in the loop with weekly project updates. I'll email you with an update on what I've worked on this week, what progress you can expect next week along with meeting reminders, shipping dates, and any other important information.

Will you work with furniture I already have?

Yes, I am happy to work with what you already own and encourage you to re-purpose and reuse. This is your home and it should reflect who you are. Starting from a clean slate is fun but the artist in me loves opportunities to perhaps paint a dresser or reupholster a chair. Re-purposing is also inspiring and informative to the design I create for you. Of course, there are times when an item you'd like to use won’t work with our new design and I will be honest with you about this. If this does come up I’ll help you find a different room where it will work better.

Not to mention, you can feel good about making the “green” choice by re-purposing what you own rather than sending them to landfills. I have a flat fee design package call One Day Decorating Makeover that may be perfect if you plan to re-purpose.
